Pune-Okayama Friendship Garden or Pu La Deshpande Udyan is one of the Largest garden located on Sinhagad Road in Pune , Maharashtra.
To live a happy and healthy life , people need to feel at peace with their environment and to be able to enjoy the beauty around them. Nature gives us all the things we need to be happy and we can become explorers who find meaning and beauty in nature's diversity. Sometimes we all just wants an occasional escape from the reality and the perfect place from the busy schedule is visiting Park.
Last Saturday i just wanted to spend my evening in peace place away from the city crowd in the lap of nautre's beauty . So decided to visit Pune-Okayama Friendship Garden or Pu La Deshpande Udyan. I got to know about this place from an Instagram page.I really liked the place.
The Garden is divided into 2 Phase.
Phase 1:
This Garden is inspired from one of the greatest garden in Japan known as Okayama's KoraKuen Garden and that's how it got the name Pune-Okayama Friendship Garden.
The garden is spread across 10 acres and have natural water from the canal. As you take a walk through the garden paths you will see small bridges and fountain in the middle of the park. The garden You will feel so peace out there and just want to walk through the park. Shelter with benches are also there so that you can sit and enjoy your evening with natural view. The garden contains natural flow of water from canal which is been spread across the garden. The garden is well maintained. The architecture is done in such a way that people can take a walk through a garden enjoying the landscape, which changes along the garden paths. The landscape keep changing during walking. The garden is having colorful fishes. you can see these fishes from a small bridge in the center of the garden.
Entry Fee:
The entry fee is 5 rupees for adult and children above 3 years.
Parking:
There is a paid parking space available outside the garden . Children play area is also available near parking.
Named after Pu La Deshpande:
The garden has been named after Pu La Deshpande , a well - know Marathi writer from Maharashtra , India.
Phase 2:
The phase 2 of this garden is known as Mughal Garden and is a replica of Mughal Garden in Rashtrapati Bhavan , New Delhi.
Transport:
The garden is located at Sinhagad road and can be reached by bus, taxi or Auto Rickshaw. This garden is a busy place during the weekends and school holidays.
